New UN office in Paoua almost finished
Aug 14th, 2007 by Kersten Jauer, HDPT CAR
Construction of the new joint United Nations office in Paoua, Central African Republic, will soon be finished.
Work has gotten more difficult lately though: material has become harder to find and transport, because of the rainy season. However, it is likely that the new office will be inaugaurated in early September this year. We had posted some weeks ago when the construction started.
The office will serve all UN agencies and NGOs working in north-western CAR. The VSAT internet connection will making communicating with the teams up there much easier.
The team of the Swedish Rescue Services Agency (SRSA), who are managing the project, has brought back some photos. See below for a slideshow (wait a second for it to appear).

Thanks,
This region of the country is in serious need and we have had our repair teams for ICDI in that region trying to get some of the wells repaired. We hope to be able to contact our teams in the future through your new communications headquarters. Please let us know how we can connect with you to get permission for them.
We will be anxious to know how the village well pumps are holding up with the repairs being done in the Ouham and Ouham pende areas so please keep us posted if you can.
God bless in your efforts there.
