Google Earth Maps

Maps for the Central African Republic are hard to come by. To make it easier to explore CAR, the Humanitarian and Development Partnership Team, in collaboration with the University of Bangui, has collected the best geographic information available for CAR and put it all in a Google Earth file, ready for anyone to download.

The file includes:

  • All administrative units (including Place-Codes)
  • More than 6,000 populated places (including Place-Codes)
  • Roads and paths
  • Maps for neighboring countries
  • Field offices (agencies, churches and missions, and some military installations)
  • Sector information (agriculture, education, health, security, et cetera)
  • Local maps for the cities of Bangui, Kaga-Bandoro, Ndélé and Birao.
  • And much more.

If you have Google Earth installed, then you can access the maps right away.

  • Download the Central African Republic Google Earth Map (KMZ)
  • Download Google Earth

It should be noted that although these maps are relatively up-to-date, conditions can change quickly and without warning.  Please take appropriate precautions.
